New Virtual 5k Run for Rockinghorse

Anyone can take part in this challenge and help raise vital funds to support sick children at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and other projects throughout Sussex. You don’t have to run it; a walk would be fine. And if you’ve ever thought about doing a couch to 5k then this is the perfect opportunity to reach your goal and help the NHS!

It’s only £10 to enter and you will receive a medal and certificate when you complete it. You can take part any time and all we ask is that you raise £50 for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity via Just Giving.

Why now?

The cancellation and postponement of marathons and other events has cost the charity sector an estimated £4bn over the last few weeks. Thanks to modern technology and the determination of people like you, we are able to turn to virtual fundraising to help us to continue raising the money we need to support The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and other children’s NHS services in Sussex when they need us most.

Running for a good cause

Sadly children are still getting sick and we need to continue to provide funding to the Royal Alex during this crisis. Many people want to support NHS charities at the moment so this could be the perfect opportunity.

You could ask your supporters to donate the cost of one day’s commute or the price of a coffee or take away lunch that they are saving whilst being at home.

Keeping safe

In these unprecedented times exercise is so important to protect both your physical and mental health. However, we also completely understand the need to stay safe while exercising so we ask that if you take part in this virtual 5k, that you do so in a way that is in-line with Government guidelines.

This means running as part of your once a day exercise, away from others and where possible not in town centres or other public places. If you have a treadmill at home, you can take part by using that.

Government guidelines are subject to change at short notice so you can find out what the latest advice is here:
