Virtual London Marathon 2020 – the 40th race
The world-famous London Marathon will take now place on Sunday 4 October 2020, albeit in a slightly different form. The elite races will still be taking place around London and public places can run their race, their way, along their own route and everyone taking part will receive their own, official, participant pack.
The organisers released a number of virtual places in The 40th Race by running the famous 26.2 mile marathon distance from home or anywhere in the world on the course of your choice. All finishers will receive an official time along with a coveted London Marathon finisher medal and a London Marathon branded New Balance finisher T-shirt.
Virtual 40th London Marathon runners will have 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, starting from midnight on Saturday 3 October, to complete the 26.2m distance. So as long as you reach your own finish line by 23:59:59 hrs on Sunday 4 October, you will be able to get your official time and medal to show off to your friends!
How do I raise money for you?
If you have a public place in the Virtual London Marathon in celebration of their 40th anniversary, could you run for us? It’s really easy, all you need to do is set up your own Just Giving page here.
How will we support you?
We have a dedicated Challenge Events Fundraising Manager who will be able to guide you every step of the way through your fundraising journey.
We’ll also provide you with a copy of our fundraising pack for lots of handy hints and top tips, as well as your own Rockinghorse t-shirt or running vest to wear during your run.
How does the money you raise support us?
Our 2019 London Marathon runners raised over £6,000 in support of young people with mental health illnesses. Chalkhill Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit in Haywards Heath is just one of the centres we are proud to support.
We also raise funds for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath, and many other paediatric services and children’s centres across Sussex. Find out more by clicking here.
