Double your donations with the Big Give
This Christmas we’re excited to announce that we’re taking part in the Big Give Christmas challenge.
The Big Give is the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, offering participating charities the opportunity to have their donations doubled during one week of fundraising.
This means that any donations made through the Rockinghorse page on the Big Give website between 12pm on 30 November to 12pm on 7 December will be doubled!
And every donation made during this one week will help to fund a new sensory garden at The Alex Children’s Hospital in Brighton, providing a relaxing, safe space for patients being treated at the hospital.
Take a look at our short film below to see how your donations will make a real difference:
Emma is a physiotherapist at the hospital and has first-hand experience of how the new sensory garden will help:
“The sensory garden is a vital addition for us to use with our inpatients in physiotherapy. For children who are often here for stays of a couple of weeks, or longer, it provides us with a different space for them to do their physiotherapy.
“It can be difficult to find new and fun things to do to motivate our children who need respiratory or mobility treatment, and a suitable space to do lots of moving around in. The sensory garden will provide that.”
And one parent of a long-stay child, really sees the difference the garden makes to her son: “The garden at the Alex is important as if gives him something to look forward to when he is in and out of hospital. He enjoys being out in the fresh air and it gives him the chance to be away from all the medical interventions and just be a child having fun.”
But please remember, only donations made through the Big Give website can be included as part of the campaign and be matched.
So, if you want to take part in the Big Give Campaign, please do not donate through our own website, or send a cheque, as your donation will not be matched.
Just go to our page on the Big Give website here and make your donation between 30 November and 7 December.
