The Big Splash – Rockinghorse Children’s Swim!

We are thrilled to introduce a brand-new event for 2026, The Big Splash, a children’s outdoor swim gala inspired by our hugely popular Rockinghorse Relay.
Join us at Sea Lanes, Brighton seafront on Sunday 5 July 2026, from 12pm to 6pm.
Designed for young swimmers aged 7–14, The Big Splash, kindly sponsored by Hurst College, gives children the chance to experience outdoor swimming on the beautiful Brighton beachfront and feel genuinely proud of what they achieve. Grab your friends, pick your starting distance (200m, 400m, 800m or 1200m) and take on this fun challenge.
Every child who takes part will be raising vital funds for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, supporting young people right across Sussex. Because at The Big Splash, it’s not just about the swimming it’s about knowing you’ve made a difference.
With music, food and a brilliant atmosphere on the day, it’s a summer event the whole family can enjoy and one your child will never forget.
Every finisher receives a medal and certificate to mark their achievement.
Each child is invited to fundraise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship and with up to 80 participants taking part, together they could make a huge impact for children in need across Sussex.
