Ambition 1: Reach, Impact, Evidence and Access

Ensure that the charity can quickly and effectively identify and provide life-saving equipment, specialist projects and enhanced services in response to the local needs of children and young people across Sussex.

We will achieve this by:

  • Expanding our health care champions programme to help us find out exactly what projects need funding and delivering across all children’s wards and baby units across Sussex.
  • Improving the way we develop projects, programmes and activities, that meet the needs of children in Sussex.
  • Expanding our use of digital to improve our project delivery, speed up our response to issues and support more children and their families.
  • Improving our evaluation processes for all our projects, activities and services and share this with our stakeholders to inform best practice.
  • Improving our use of data to inform all our activities to support babies, children, young people and their families more effectively.

Charlotte Savins

Paediatric Psychologist at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Rockinghorse Champion:

“Rockinghorse really listens to staff at the Alex to hear what we need to help our patients. They always respond quickly and are so supportive of our work. Having this additional resource enables us to think even more creatively about the best way for us to support our patients and means we can offer them above and beyond what we would ordinarily be able to.

“They really help us to be able to give the best care to the children that we work with and ultimately, that’s the most important thing.”
