Tudor House
At Tudor House children from 10 to 19
years old can enjoy the facilities while their parents can recharge their
batteries, knowing that the best possible care is being provided.
It is a wonderfully warm, welcoming and homely environment where Rockinghorse has provided many items including sensory toys.
In 2010 Rockinghorse took on a project to build a specially adapted and accessible wing at the centre.
The fundraising was given a
tremendous boost thanks to the Chairman of Brighton and Hove Albion Football
Club, Tony Bloom, who ran the Brighton Marathon in three hours, fifty
seven minutes and twenty four seconds. Having
smashed his target, raising close to £150,000, Mr Bloom raised enough to ensure that the new wing could be completed.
The building work began in early 2011 and the extension was officially opened by Tony Bloom on Friday 15 July 2011. Read the full story here. See photos on our Facebook page.

The following is a quote from Clare Brunt, who is the practice manager at Tudor House:
"First of all I’d like to say how grateful we all are at Tudor House for the equipment for which Rockinghorse has raised money to help us improve the facilities for the children who come to Tudor House.
"The Centromed bed has enabled us to meet the night time support needs of children who require equipment that is more specialised than we already provide, making a huge difference to the families of some disabled children.
"Some of our more able young people (and staff!) have had great fun with the Wii, but the most popular item that you have donated to us is the interactive wall. Virtually all our young people, whatever their level of disability, enjoy the sounds and tactile sensations the wall provides, and the big mac switch that allows children to do a short recording of their voice or other sounds is a big hit!"
