Rockinghorse was initially set up to help provide hospitals with facilities that the NHS could not cover, specifially at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton.

In June 2007, 'The New Alex' in Brighton opened its doors to children across Sussex and beyond.

Trevor Mann Baby Unit
Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) is based at Brighton's Royal Sussex County Hospital and is a specialist department for the care of premature and sick newborn babies.

Chalkhill Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit in Haywards Heath is a centre providing inpatient support for children and young people with mental health conditions.

Friston Ward is the children’s ward at Eastbourne District General Hospital where up to 26 children stay at any one time.

Rockinghorse would like to provide a High Dependency Unit (HDU) for Outwood Ward, which is the children’s ward of the East Surrey Hospital and is part of the Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust.
