Sussex solicitors raise thousands for sick children
Mayo Wynne Baxter, renowned for their commitment to contributing to their local communities, has raised almost £30,000 for Rockinghorse.
The firm, which employs 230 staff across ten locations in Sussex, nominated Rockinghorse as their Charity of the Year in June 2016, and have recently completed the first year of their fundraising.
To celebrate our 50th anniversary, Mayo Wynne Baxter have hosted and sponsored a variety of fundraising events already this year, including the Brighton Medieval Banquet, sporting lunch Best of British, the MWB Annual Golf Day, and smaller in-house fundraising events.
Our 50th year welcomes the launch of the ‘Sussex Giving for Sussex Children’ initiative, where we aim to provide £500,000 worth of funding which will be split between 10 worthy children’s centres and paediatric services in Sussex. Funds will help make those services stimulating, cutting edge and accessible for the many babies, children and young people who need them, making a real difference to some truly deserving projects.
With this huge achievement by Mayo Wynne Baxter in year one of a two year partnership, the future of fundraising looks prosperous for the company and Rockinghorse, with events for next year already being planned (there’s even talk of another Medieval Banquet!). Individuals in the firm have also been on their own fundraising crusades, including CEO of Mayo Wynne Baxter, Chris Randall, who is midway through completing his 50 miles for 50 years challenge.
He said: “We’re more than pleased with the final amount raised for Rockinghorse this year. It’s been a pleasure fundraising towards their 50th anniversary and we hope to raise even more in the year ahead.”
