Ronald McDonald House partners with Aidan’s project

Rockinghorse is pleased to announce that we are now officially working with Ronald McDonald House Brighton as part of our Christmas Day activity with Aidan’s Christmas Dinner Project.

Parents Lucy and Simon Pond began the project in 2014 after they stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) whilst their son Aidan was a patient on the High Dependency Unit.

Christmas proved to be a very distressing time for the whole family as Aidan was so poorly, and for the last three years Lucy and Simon have raised funds in his memory to provide festive meals for families who must stay at the Alex for Christmas. Following their experience, the Aidan’s Christmas Dinner Project now ensures every family who finds themselves in the same situation will have a Christmas Dinner.

This Christmas Day, there will be festive dinners cooked to order by amazing volunteers who will give up their time, and they will be joined by Martin Coatsworth, manager of Ronald McDonald House in Brighton (pictured above with Louise Bartha from Rockinghorse and Lucy Pond).

The volunteers are going to be based in the kitchens of Level 10 at the Alex, and will aim to cook around 30 dinners using fresh local produce provided by Middle Farm in Lewes. To find out more information about the project, please click here.
