Charity supporters get down to quiz-ness

The Big Rockinghorse Quiz returned to the County Ground in Hove last week (Thursday 30 March) for a special 50th birthday edition.

Sponsored by Leaders, the sell-out event welcomed almost 200 supporters who took part in the annual fundraiser, raising over £7,600! Entry was £25 per person (which included a curry and a drink) with a percentage from each ticket being donated. Funds were also raised from a lucky dip and raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.

26 teams took part with participants enjoying six rounds of quiz trivia, including the much-loved karaoke team challenge. In true birthday party style, face-painter Jo Foster was on hand to create some wonderful facial artwork and everyone celebrated by tucking in to a 50th birthday cake, handmade and donated to us Piglets Pantry. Fortis Law were crowned winners for the third year in a row and were presented with a trophy donated by Pinnacle UK (pictured above with Rockinghorse’s Hannah Seltzer, left, and Ryan Heal, right).

Hannah Seltzer, Events Fundraiser at Rockinghorse, said: “Thanks to everyone who joined us for our birthday quiz and helped us to celebrate in style! With over £7,600 raised, we are really grateful to all the local businesses who took part and donated lots of wonderful prizes for the event. We look forward to welcoming supporters to our annual Halloween quiz later in the year.”

Of course events like this aren’t possible without the help and support of local individuals and businesses.
