Beach volleyball event is a winner!
Crown Office Row held their 7th annual charity beach volleyball tournament this month, raising money for Rockinghorse.
The Ghulam Hussain Cup is named after a Crown Office Row member of staff who was a keen participant in the annual volleyball competition, and sadly passed away in 2015.
Held at Yellowave beach sports venue on Madeira Drive in Brighton, the tournament was the biggest yet with 18 teams taking part. The event raised a fantastic £2,675 for our 50th year appeal, Sussex Giving for Sussex Children. This brings the total raised by Crown Office Row from the event over the last seven years to £15,000!
The tournament was won by the team from Stiles Harold Williams, who will proudly display the trophy in their office for the next 12 months.
Event organiser, James Hart, First Junior Clerk at Crown Office Row barristers chamber in Brighton, said: “We are grateful to each of the teams that took part in the tournament, and for their much valued support of this annual event.”
Analiese Doctrove, Head of Fundraising at Rockinghorse, added: “The tournament is always a fantastic event and receives great support from businesses across the city. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone for taking part and helping to raise £2,675 for Rockinghorse, enabling us to continue our vital work at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton.”
