Rockinghorse relies on the support and generosity of volunteers who help us at various fundraising events in Brighton & Hove and across Sussex...

We’re always on the look-out for more volunteers to help us at events throughout the year, so if you are able to commit on a regular basis, or just fancy getting involved as a one-off, we’d love you to join our volunteer team!

Volunteering opportunities…

Best of British, Gatwick

Date: Friday 3 November
Time: 11am-4pm
Location: The Hilton Hotel, Gatwick Airport
Dress Code: Smart black clothes and shoes (no jeans or trainers)

Bob Wilson OBE is the special guest speaker at our annual Best of British charity sporting lunch in Gatwick. We are looking for volunteers who are able to help us sell raffle tickets, collect heads and tails money, and take auction payments.

Finding Narnia

Date: Saturday 11 November
Time: 1:30pm-6:30pm
Location: King Edward Hall, Lindfield
Dress Code: Smart black clothes and shoes (no jeans or trainers)

Travel through the wardrobe with your family and escape into a world of fantasy and wonder at our ‘Finding Narnia’ immersive event. Meet enchanted creatures in the forest, listen to a magical story from Mr Tumnus, and whatever you do, stay away from the Snow Queen.

An event run by PoppiesParties, volunteers will be split into 2 shifts, helping out on various tasks including: controlling the guest list, serving refreshments, and monitoring the rooms and exit.

Santa Dash

Date: Saturday 9 December
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
Location: Hove Lawns
Dress Code: Comfy, warm clothes, Rockinghorse t-shirt – plus feel free to wear anything festive too!

Join us for the annual Santa Dash, a fun 5km running event with participants dressed in Santa suits! We are looking for volunteers to help us register the Santas on the day and hand out Santa suits! We will also need volunteers to hand out medals for the runners as they come through the finish line. We’ll also be having a collection on the day so come down and shake a bucket with us to help us raise lots of money for sick children in Sussex. 

The Grand Hotel Brighton Christmas parties

Date: 9 / 14 / 16 December
Time: 7pm-8pm
Location: The Grand Hotel, Brighton
Dress Code: Smart black clothes and shoes (Rockinghorse t-shirts will be provided)

We are looking for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets for an hour at Christmas parties at the Grand Hotel in Brighton. The parties are on three different dates in December, and we're looking for a couple of volunteers to help at each event. All proceeds will support our 50th year appeal.
