The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital

In June 2007 the new Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) opened its doors to children across Sussex and beyond.

The state-of-the-art facility offers pioneering paediatric care and provides inpatient facilities, including intensive care, and outpatient care, and a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department, for children across the whole of the South East.

Over 45,000 young patients are treated at the Alex every year and we work closely with the hospital’s consultants and paediatricians to ensure we are providing equipment and services which will most benefit the babies, children and teenagers who need them.

In recent years we have worked with the Alex to develop a new Gastro-Intestinal (GI) Nutrition Unit, launched a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department and opened a brand new Sensory Garden to provide additional outside space for young patients and their families.
