Take part in the ultimate challenge on 18 MarchRockinghorse is inviting brave people to take up the ultimate challenge and walk over a bed of hot coals to raise money for sick and disabled children in Surrey.

The firewalk takes place on the evening of Friday 18 March at Priory Park in Reigate. Food and drink will be available and friends and family are welcome to come along to witness their loved ones putting mind over matter to achieve amazing results.

The evening is set to be fun-packed and guests will enjoy local entertainment including performances by a steel and samba band, a folk singer, a fire hoola hoopa and a fire-juggling jester.

All money raised on the evening will go towards helping the charity to provide a high dependency unit for the children’s ward at East Surrey Hospital, as well as helping to create a specialised sensory playroom for the young people who use Beeches Respite Centre in Reigate.

Emma Millar, Challenge Events Fundraiser, said: “The firewalk is going to be great fun and will leave you with a real sense of achievement. To take part in this challenge, you will need to complete the two hour 'learn or burn' seminar, which will equip you and your team-mates with the skills and positive mental attitude to walk on the embers.

“After the seminar, you will be taken out to the 20ft firebed and one by one, you will walk across, whilst being cheered on by friends, colleagues and onlookers. You’ll then be awarded a certificate and will have the chance to celebrate!”

There is a £30 registration fee and walkers must raise a minimum of £150 to take part. For more information contact Emma on 01273 730286 or download a registration form here.
