Toto hosts fundraiser for Rockinghorse
Wednesday 15 June 2011
Totó Italian restaurant in Worthing has put its support
behind Rockinghorse children’s charity by hosting a fundraising dinner, which
raised a fantastic £1,175.
The evening, which began at 7.30pm until 10.30pm, included a two-course meal, a raffle and a presentation about the charity’s work. The raffle prizes were collated by Sue Deadman and included a Beale’s make-up set and vouchers, a case of Prestige wine donated by Alivini, a cutlery set worth £200 and vouchers for a fitness course at Vibrogym Studios.
Restaurant owner, Giuseppe Manganaro, was pleased that the evening exceeded his expectations for the amount raised. He said: “I’ve been aware of Rockinghorse and the work it does with The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital for a long time and so wanted to find a way to support the charity.
“Hosting a charity dinner seemed like a great idea and it really was a fantastic evening. Tickets completely sold out before the event!”
Tickets were great value at £10 and all of the money raised from ticket sales and the evening’s events has been donated directly to Rockinghorse, the charity that supports sick and disabled children across Sussex and Surrey.
Ria Wilson, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Rockinghorse, said: “Giuseppe has been extremely generous and has ensured all of the money from ticket sales came to the charity – he’s not even taking out a percentage to cover costs.
She added: “We’re really excited to be working with Totó and would like to thank all the staff and guests who helped make it a great night of fun and fundraising.”
