Take the plunge for charity
Wednesday 23 June 2010
Rockinghorse children’s charity has a number of places
for this year’s Bungee on the Beach on Hove Lawns.
Now in its fifth year, the two-day event will take place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July and promises to be a fun-filled day, which will involve taking the plunge from a 170ft bungee jump. There will also be entertainment to keep friends and family busy, including a gyroscope and climbing wall, a French market and a locally sourced bar.
Alongside the entertainment, the charity is holding a competition for the top three fundraisers who bring in the most sponsorship money for the event. Last year’s winner took away a flying lesson. Participants may also choose to jump in costume, with previous jumpers dressing as childhood heroes including Spiderman, Alice in Wonderland and Wonder Woman.
Registration is £10 and all applicants must raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship to jump, which will go towards helping to make life better for sick and disabled children in Sussex and Surrey.
