Synergy supports children’s charity garden opening
Tuesday 20 July
A local design and print company is to lend its support to
Rockinghorse to celebrate the charity’s grand opening of a newly refurbished garden
at a respite centre in Burgess Hill.
Previously, the garden at Finches Respite Centre was mostly lawn and therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users. In 2009 Rockinghorse raised almost £50,000 to fund a huge face-lift to make the garden safe for children with disabilities.
The new sensory garden allows the children who visit the centre to use all their senses to discover the wonders of nature, socialise with friends, and most importantly have fun.
To coincide with the opening, Synergy Group Sussex Ltd will be providing its vans to collect stock donations from local residents and businesses, for Rockinghorse’s charity shop in Hove.
Noel Sainsbury, Director of Synergy Group Sussex Ltd, said: "We at Synergy Group are delighted to be helping and supporting Rockinghorse, our local children's charity, by providing a collection service of goods to be retailed in their George Street shop in Hove. As a print and direct mail company based in Burgess Hill, we have large enough vans to cope with volume local collections."
Collections will take place on Thursday 29 July in the Mid Sussex area and the charity is appealing for donations of unwanted clothes, bric-a-brac or small items of furniture.
Gavin Fisher, Chief Executive of Rockinghorse, said: “The shop is a vital source of funds and it is so important to get good quality donations of stock to sell, but we don’t have vans of our own.
“This gesture by Synergy is so generous, as it means that supporters in Mid Sussex can play their part even if they cannot get the items to our shop themselves. It’s also a great opportunity for a spring clean! Please do get in touch if you have anything to spare.”
If you would like to support Rockinghorse by donating items for its shop, please call the charity’s office on 01273 730286 to arrange a suitable time for a Synergy driver to collect the items.
