MRL Group presents baby unit with incubator

Wednesday 22 June 2011

Staff from MRL present the Trevor Mann Baby Unit with an incubatorStaff from MRL Group, an international specialist recruitment company based in Hove, have raised a staggering £5,708.15 for Rockinghorse children’s charity over the past year.

The donation has enabled the charity to provide an incubator for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, a specialist unit for premature babies located in Brighton’s Royal Sussex County Hospital.

The money was raised throughout the financial year 2010-2011 in a number of ways. Managing Consultant, Ryan Cool, took park in last year’s London to Paris Bike Ride and also organised an auction, which raised £1,800.

Staff members from the recruitment company also arranged an array of fundraising activities, including sponsored runs, cake sales and a moustache growing competition, as well as some taking part in the 2010 Brighton Marathon.

David Stone, Chief Executive of MRL Group, said: “One of the reasons we chose to support Rockinghorse is because, over the past few years, four of our current Hove-based staff have children who have benefited from specialist attention in the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.

“The charity does a tremendous job for local children and I am delighted that our employees in the UK as well as our German and French offices have put their support behind such a worthwhile cause. We hope to be able to support Rockinghorse again in the future.”

Rockinghorse works with respite centres and children’s hospitals to help make life better for sick and disabled children across Sussex and Surrey, by providing cutting edge equipment and by making surroundings more comfortable and accessible.

Ria Wilson, Rockinghorse Corporate Partnerships Manager, said: “All the staff at MRL Group have done a fantastic job – they really have excelled themselves and we are truly grateful. The incubator will make a real difference to premature babies in the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.”
