Let your wedding dress shine once more!
Tuesday 24 May 2011
Sussex bridal shops and individuals have generously
donated wedding dresses to Rockinghorse’s appeal for its Brighton Wedding Frock
event.
The event will take place at the charity’s shop in George Street, Hove, on Saturday 4 June. Brides-to-be are invited to come along with friends, try on dresses and enjoy a glass of bubbly. The auction will begin at 12pm and all money raised will go to the children’s charity.
Walk in Wardrobe in Hove donated one wedding dress and a further four bridesmaid dresses for the event; White Mischief Bridal in Henfield donated two brand new dresses worth £1,500 each; and Bride of Hassocks donated three dresses, which are also brand new. Individuals have also donated a number of dresses, all different sizes and styles.
Laura Frier at Rockinghorse said: “We have been amazed at how generous people have been. A wedding dress is obviously very sentimental to its owner, but it’s fantastic to see people parting with their special dresses to help raise funds for local sick and disabled children.
“We’re also so grateful to Walk in Wardrobe, White Mischief and Bride of Hassocks. It should be a really great event so bring friends and try on dresses! We’re still looking for donations of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding shoes and accessories, so please get in touch if you can help.”
The shop will be open from 10am until 5pm on the day of the event. To find out more about the appeal, or to donate a dress, contact Laura Frier on 01273 330044.
