Leave your mark

Tuesday 19 April 2011

Debbie Brown of I Leave My MarkCommunity organisation, I Leave My Mark, is putting on a number of workshops for children during the Brighton Fringe Festival, to create a unique piece of community artwork: a child's face made entirely from fingerprints.

It will cost £1 for a child to leave their mark and the money raised from the event will be distributed between a number of charities, one of which is Rockinghorse. The sessions will run over four consecutive weekends in May commencing Saturday 7 May, from 11am-5pm at a beach hut between First and Second Avenue on Hove seafront. There will be children’s activities on the beach and a chance to win some ‘Fringetastic’ prizes donated by local businesses.

The collection of prints will be revealed on 29 May at The Basement, Kensington St, Brighton from 12pm-5pm.

The initiative has been created entirely from the generosity of local businesses and individuals, which means every single penny raised goes directly to charity.  All those involved are donating their time, skills and smiles to make a difference to the lives of children in this fun, participative and colourful production.

Donate, create and make a difference.  Leave your mark on the Fringe and help to transform a child’s life.  For more information, to donate or volunteer visit the I Leave My Mark website or contact Analiese Doctrove at Rockinghorse on 01273 730286.
