Children's drawing competition

Monday 8 November 2010

Poster design by Jamie NobleYoung people are being invited to enter a circus-themed drawing competition in aid of Rockinghorse in the run up to the charity’s Circus Ball.

The competition, which is run by Fiveways Art & Crafts in Brighton, involves designing an A4 piece of artwork on any medium by the deadline, which has been set to coincide with the charity’s fundraising ball, on 20 November. Entry costs £2 and all money raised will go towards Rockinghorse’s aim of making life better for sick children in Sussex and Surrey.

Age groups will be split into three categories before judging – under 7’s, 8-12 and 13-16 year olds – and the winner of each group will receive a voucher worth £25 for Fiveways Art. The art could be chosen to be displayed at the Jubilee Library, Brighton until the prize giving on 18 December.

Analiese Doctrove, Community Fundraiser for Rockinghorse, said: “We’re really grateful to Fiveways Art for organising such a fun event that children can get stuck into. It’s also great that Jubilee Library is supporting the competition. The one stipulation is that the art must have a circus theme – I’m really looking forward to seeing what the local children have to offer.”

Entries, along with the £2 fee, must be taken to Fiveways Art & Crafts, 261 Ditchling Road, Brighton. Contact the shop for more details on 01273 551600.
