Welcome
Welcome to Rockinghorse, the charity that makes life better for sick children in Sussex.
Rockinghorse wants to make all children’s health facilities in Sussex child-friendly environments and believes that no child should be frightened to go into hospital. Specifically, we provide games, toys and televisions for children’s wards, we provide entertainers to go onto the wards and we even redecorate wards to make them more welcoming and homely for the children to visit. Additionally, we provide cutting-edge medical equipment that makes surgery less invasive, quicker or less painful.
The charity is best known for its work with the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.
Rockinghorse provided over £1m of specialist equipment, toys, games and much more. We continue to do so and are proud of our ongoing work for one of the country's leading children's hospitals.
We are equally proud to be making a difference for children across Sussex at three respite centres with whom we work and at Chalkhill in Haywards Heath, a hospital for children with mental health conditions.
At the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton Sussex's most fragile children arrive into the world. We've provided equipment and contributed to its refurbishment.
Rockinghorse relies on the support of generous local people to make its work possible. There are dozens of ways that you can help, so please take time to read about our exciting events and find out about other ways that you can get involved and support our work.
Thank you.
